Went here recently with friends from USA they wanted to visit a traditional village pub, and they were not disappointed! So friendly. Dined in Bar. Loved it. Mr Gordon was so helpful and full of knowledge to the area. Loved the set up here. So clean and cosy. Friends loved the small antiques corner in restaurant, it made their day! will be back.
Good food but alas from our first visit two years ago and 6/7 visits later we have seen a decline in size of portion and a drop in what was classic 80s cuisine. The place is old, smells and needs a good clean, a heater or open fire would not go amiss, where in the past I looked past all this because the food was so good and we have taken so many good people their but when standards drop below a level it must be time to change or move on.
Food was fantastic, brilliant service. Made to feel really welcome by friendly staff. Good value for money too. Will recommend to friends
